Being active in your community, contributing to a cause you believe in and advocating for policy change are empowering ways to help build momentum. Get involved with these Maine organizations to get your voice out there.

Natural Resources Council of Maine

Through NRCM’s Sustainable Maine Program, learn how you can pass policies and start new systems that make the ecofriendly choice the easy choice for your community. nrcm.org/programs/sustainability

Sierra Club Maine

The volunteer-run Maine chapter of the Sierra Club advocates for a cleaner Maine and a cleaner planet. Volunteer, check out events and/or make a financial contribution: sierraclub.org/maine

Maine Audubon

Maine Audubon is always looking for volunteers to help with their loon count and other projects, including caring for the native plants at Gilsland Farm, assisting with educational programs, or staffing their visitor centers. Apply for a regular shift or check their calendars for volunteer days.

350 Maine

350 Maine is a grassroots movement dedicated to fighting for climate justice, which has helped foster other advocacy groups including the statewide coalition Maine Climate Action Now and Maine Youth for Climate Justice, a group for youth and adults under 30.

Friends of Casco Bay
